Financial Assistance

Financial assistance in the form of benevolence may be available to guests admitted for Christian Science nursing care at any level. Benevolence would be offered in some cases in the form of adjusted room rates for those whose fiscal stability would be compromised because of a needed stay at Wayside House. Eligibility for benevolence is determined by an assessment of the individual’s financial profile.

A Spiritual Renewal/ Rest and Study guest may also qualify for benevolence if they are working out a physical problem and in need of spiritual refreshment and quiet time to pray and study but is not requiring Christian Science nursing services. If any Christian Science Nursing care becomes necessary during the visit, this will be assessed, and additional charges may apply.

The Christian Science National Benevolence Fund was established in 2011 to help residents of Canada, who face significant financial challenges in covering the cost of Christian Science nursing and Christian Science Practitioner care in their reliance on Christian Science healing.
